While we are always keen to welcome new players to all seats in the band, we are currently particularly seeking a cornet player (position negotiable). Please do get in contact via the links below if you're interested in joining us.

As the city of Exeter's principal brass band, we are always looking for new players to contribute to our development and growth. Whether you've recently moved to Exeter and are looking for a new band, are looking to return to banding after a break, or simply fancing giving brass-banding a try, we'd be delighted to hear from you. We welcome players from a wide range of backgrounds, including staff and students at the University of Exeter, and our members range in age from young people to retirees; all are equally important in the success of the band.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming band, and if you're interested in coming along to one of our rehearsals, we'd love to hear from you. As a general guide, the simpler pieces of music in our repertoire (such as the second and third cornet parts) should be playable by anyone of approximately Grade 3 standard and above, but even if you are not of this standard, we would still encourage you to get in contact: we place a great deal of emphasis on player development, and are keen to work with those who are new to the world of brass, or are returning after a break. Several of our members have come to the brass-banding world from other backgrounds, including trumpet players, and we are able to help new members in sourcing an instrument where necessary.

Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings between 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Historically, we have rehearsed in a room at Exeter Central Station, but in response to the coronavirus pandemic, we have recently shifted our rehearsal venue to Trinity Church of England Primary School, Newcourt, EX2 7TR. We retain storage facilities at Central Station, including generous space for our archives and percussion equipment.
